Structure
- Text comprehension: the candidate is asked to answer 30 comprehension questions concerning 3 texts (duration 60 minutes)
- Listening comprehension: The candidate is asked to answer 25 questions related to 3 listening passages (duration 40 minutes)
- Text composition: The candidate is asked to produce a text in 60 minutes
- Oral examination: The candidate is asked to perform an oral examination in 7 tasks (duration 30 minutes)
Results
If the candidate fails to reach the TDN 3 level, then the certificate is issued with the indication below TDN 3.
Certificates
Certificates are issued 6 weeks after the examination and are valid for lifetime. The diploma received by each candidate includes marks per paper, as well as a detailed description of the level to which the score corresponds.
Exams
Exams in Athens are organized by the Goethe Institut. Both the application and the payment of the exam fee are performed online. The examination is performed within the same day (morning hours). Candidates must carry with them the acceptance form of the examination along with identification documents (ID card, identification certificate for minors, driver’s license or passport).
Online Exam
From 2020 onwards, the examination is also offered in online form, 3 times per year. When submitting the application, the candidate has the possibility to choose the date and method of examination that better suits him/her.
